Easter is coming!  It comes early this year...in March, and not even the last Sunday in March.  This year, by popular request, all the children will have a small part in the service.  It has always been one of my favorite days in the church year, a day to celebrate life and enduring hope.  I am always glad when it comes in March, because, for me March is the hardest month of the whole year.  Somehow it feels as though winter has gone on , if not forever, at least for way too long, and while the head knows that Spring can’t be far behind, the heart begins to doubt.  Then comes Easter with its message of eternal hope and renewal.

This March I wish you new life...in greening grass and budding trees, in days warm with sunshine and friendship and in a lightening of whatever burdens your heart has carried through the dark months of winter.
