The Dances of Universal Peace are based in mantras from many world religions. Walking practice, prayer, sound current vibration, and gentle full body movement create an atmosphere of heart centered peace. The Dances of Universal Peace are lead by Sarah-Elizabeth Whitcomb and Jane Jenaabi Finlay. We have musical support with guitar, harp, flute, recorder and drum. Bring your beginner self. All mantras and dance movements will be shared with interpretation.
The Chapel will be open a half hour prior to beginning in order to allow for centering time for the leaders and musicians. All are welcome to join us as we connect and create space together. Bring yourself, an open heart and a friend to the circle!
For more information please contact Sarah-Elizabeth Whitcomb at sarah_elizabeth@me.com or 603 365-0852 cell or Rev. Michael Leuchtenberger at michael@concorduu.org or 603 410-4830.
On Sunday, Nov. 13th we had an incredibly moving service around the idea of caring for those in our community, both within and outside of the church. Caring Network members helped us to see what a difference a kind gesture can make in the life of a congregant. The Al Ghadhbawi family shared their story of coming to Concord and living with despair until “angels” from the UU church knocked on their door.
You can help to spread that sense of belonging by taking a tag from the UUFOR giving tree. On Sunday, December 4th and 11th you will find a tree in the parlor, decorated with tags. Each tag suggests one gift for a member of refugee family that is connected to our church. The suggestions will be for children of all ages, as well as for adults. Price ranges will vary as well. Take a tag, buy a gift and return it wrapped, with the tag on it, on Dec. 11 or 18.
Please consider delivering one set of gifts. This is a great way to make a connection with a family and to truly understand how important it is for the families to know that they have been ‘friended’ by the UU Church. Let Cheryl Bourassa know if you are interested in doing this.
