About Us

We are a Welcoming congregation

As a Welcoming Congregation we publicly welcome and support bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender people and their families.

We believe that our first principle, respecting “the inherent worth and dignity of every person,” applies equally to people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

The Concord UU voted to become a Welcoming Congregation in 2001, after an intensive program of self-examination and education designed to raise the congregation's awareness of and sensitivity to the issues faced by bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender persons.

We continue to educate oursleves through Sunday services, workshops and printed materials, in order to better understand b/g/l/t people and their needs. We also attend to legislative developments and work to promote justice, freedom, and equality in the larger society.
